MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Education should be a safe place for students where they are educated about the world. Many adults lack knowledge in various areas due to gaps in their education during their formative years. Some people even normalize being sexist, ableist, abusive, racist, or homophobic. People think it is abnormal if someone says they are asexual or aromantic, and agnostic and atheist. The role of a teacher extends beyond imparting knowledge; it's about shaping individuals to become more empathetic and compassionate human beings. PEER OBSERVATION

My peer was Dinithi Lorensuhewa and in the observation of her teaching demonstration, she effectively demonstrated a variety of classroom management techniques and strategies to engage the students throughout the lesson. The lesson was structured with a lead-in activity, a pre-task warm-up, and a main language practice task.  One of the standout strengths of her presentation was the lead-in activity, a ball game, which was not only creative but also highly engaging. It effectively energized the students and set a positive tone for the lesson. She effectively incorporated a variety of classroom management techniques, including a well-structured warm-up activity, clear and concise instructions, interactive group activities, experiential learning, versatile classroom layout changes, and appropriate use of resources. Her skillful integration of the...
